On this day last year I made one of the biggest choices of my life and gave up smoking.
In February 2013, I went running on a beach in Colombia and was in shock at how smoking was literally killing me.
In March 2013, my lung capacity was 37% less than it should be for someone my age.
And if stats serve me correctly, I smoked 33 720 hubbly bubblies (337 200 cigarettes in smoke) which cost me around R202 000.
My friends back home will remember how I lit up at 6am and smoked day-in and day-out.
And yes, I may have a few extra kilos to shed because of it but I have my health back.
We can do anything we put our minds to. Now for the next life resolution…
